8. A Giant Shadow

 8-1

Jack jumped behind the magnolia tree.

잭은 목화나무 뒤로 뛰어 내렸다.

His heart was beating so fast he could hardly think.

그의 심장은 너무 빨리 뛰어서 그는 생각을 할수가 없었다.

He peeked out at the giant monster.

그는 거대한 괴물을 훔쳐봤다.

The horrible-looking creature was opening and closing his huge jaws.

그 끔찍하게 생긴 생명체는 거대한 턱을 열고 닫았다.

His teeth were as big as steak knives.

그의 치아는 스테이크 나이프만큼 컸다.

Don't panic Think.

당황하지마 생각해.

Jack peered down at the valley.

잭은 골짜기 아래를 응시했다.

Good The duck-billed dinosaurs were sticking close to their nests.

좋아요. 오리부리 공룡은 그들의 둥지 가까이 붙어있다.

Jack looked back at the Tyrannosaurus.

잭은 티라노사우루스를 돌아보왔다.

Good. The monster still didn't seem to know he was there.

좋아요. 몬스터는 아직도 그가 거기에 있다는것을 모르는 거 같다.

Don't panic. Think. Think. Maybe there's information in the book.

당황하지마. 생각해. 생각. 아마도 책에 정보가 있을 것이다.

Jack opened the dinosaur book

잭은 공룡책을 열었다.

He found Tyrannosaurus rex. He read:

그는 티라노사우루스 렉스를 찾았다. 그는 읽었다:

Tyrannosaurus rex was the largest meat-eating land animal of all time.

티라노사우루스 렉스는 역사상 가장 큰 육식동물이다

If it were alive today, it would eat a human in one bite.

만약 그것이 오늘날 살아있다면, 그것은 사람을 한입에 먹을것이다.

Great. The book was no help at all.

좋아요. 책은 전혀 도움이 안됐다.

Okay. He couldn't hide on the other side of the hill.

좋아. 그는 언덕 반대면에 숨을 수 없었다.

The Anatosauruses might stam-pede.

아나토나우루스는 발을 헛디딜지도 모른다.

Okay. He could't run to the tree house.

좋아. 그는 나무집으로 달려갈수 없었다.

The Tyrannosaurus might run faster.

그 티라노사우루스는 더 빠르게 달릴수 있다.

Okay. Maybe he should just wait.

좋아. 그냥 그는 기다려야 할것이다

Wait for the monster to leave.

몬스터가 떠나길 기다리다

Jack peeked around the tree.

잭은 나무 주위를 훔쳐봤다.

  horrible : 지긋지긋한, 끔찍한, 불쾌한

  stam-pede : 다리를 절다
