# 2 The Knight at Dawn

 

1. The Dark Woods

1-4

Jack jumped back. Then he frowned.

잭은 뒤로 뛰어내렸다. 그리고는 얼굴을 찌뿌렸다.

"Cut it out!" he said.

"그만해!" 그는 말했다.

"I scared you," said Annie.

"내가 너를 겁먹게했네," 애니가 말했다.

Jack glared at her.

잭은 그녀를 노려봤다.

"Stop pretending!" he whispered. "This is serious."

"시늉 하는것좀 그만해!" 그는 속삭였다. "이거는 심각해."

"Okay, okay."

"알았어, 알았어."

Annie shined her flashlight over the tops of the trees.

애니는 나무꼭대기를 플래쉬로 비췄다.

"Now what are you doing?" said Jack.

"지금 뭐하는거야?" 잭이 말했다.

"Looking for the tree house!"

"나무집을 찾고있어!"

The light stopped moving.

불빛은 움직임을 멈췄다.

There it was. The mysterious tree house.

거기에 있었다. 신비한 나무집이.

At the top of the tallest tree in the woods.

숲속에서 가장 높은나무 꼭대기에

Annie shined her light at the tree house, and then down the tall ladder.

애니는 나무꼭대기와 그 밑의 긴 사다리를 비췄다.

All the way to the ground.

바닥까지 쭉.

"I'm going up," she said. She gripped the flashlight and began to climb.

"나는 올라갈래," 그녀가 말했다. 그녀는 플래쉬를 잡고 올라가기 시작했다.

"Wait!" Jack called.

"기다려!" 잭이 불렀다.

What if someone was in the tree house?

만약 누군가 나무집에 있다면 어떻하지?

"Annie! Come back!"

"애니! 돌아와!"

But she was gone. The light disap-peared. Jack was alone in the dark.

그러나 그녀는 사라졌다. 불빛도 사라졌다. 잭은 어둠속에 혼자있었다.

  glared : 노려보았다
